Exterior Restoration in Calgary
Axion Roofing restores the full exterior after Calgary hail: siding, eavestrough, downspouts, soffit and fascia, rebuilt to impact-rated materials on one mobilization.
Axion Roofing restores the whole exterior envelope after Calgary hail, not just the roof. Hail that bruises shingles also cracks vinyl siding, perforates eavestrough, splits soffit panels and dents fascia. Insurers scope all of it. Owners who repair only the roof leave covered damage on the building.
Flori runs roof and exterior work off a single mobilization, so the siding crew is not scheduling around a roofing crew that left three weeks ago.

What one hailstorm does to a Calgary house
The August 5, 2024 Calgary storm produced $3.25 billion in insured losses and more than 130,000 claims, which the Insurance Bureau of Canada ranks as the second-costliest insured disaster in Canadian history. Calgary sits at the centre of Hailstorm Alley, the corridor from High River through Calgary and Red Deer to Lacombe.
Damage arrives in this order of visibility:
- 01Soft metals dent first. Eavestrough, downspouts, gutter aprons, furnace flue caps, roof vents and air conditioner fins show impact before anything else.
- 02Vinyl siding cracks and holes. Vinyl becomes brittle in cold weather, so an early-season or late-season hailstorm punches straight through it.
- 03Soffit panels split. Aluminum and vinyl soffit sits horizontally under the eave and takes wind-driven strikes on the north and west elevations.
- 04Fascia dents and separates. Fascia carries the eavestrough. Dented fascia bows and the trough pitch goes with it.
- 05Shingles bruise invisibly. Roof damage is the last thing you see and the most expensive thing you miss. Hail roof restoration in Calgary covers that assessment.
Beyond the roof
Hail hits the whole elevation
01Gutter and drip edge above the driveway, the run most often dented and most often missed.
02Eavestrough along the eave, checked for slope and hanger spacing as well as impact damage.
03Trough and shingle edge from the roof, where water actually has to leave the building.

What Axion Roofing restores
- 01
Siding
Vinyl, aluminum, engineered wood and fibre cement siding repair and replacement, including full-elevation replacement where a discontinued profile cannot be matched. Axion Roofing checks the sheathing and the weather-resistant barrier behind any removed panel, because hail that perforated the siding also perforated the housewrap. - 02
Eavestrough and downspouts
Continuous seamless eavestrough replacement, downspout runs, extensions and drainage away from the foundation. Trough pitch gets set to drain, not just to look level. - 03
Soffit and fascia
Aluminum and vinyl soffit and fascia replacement. Soffit is also the attic’s intake ventilation, so Axion Roofing confirms the vented panel area supports the intake requirement in the National Building Code, Alberta Edition, Section 9.19 rather than installing solid panel across the full run. - 04
Impact-rated rebuilds
Where a claim is replacing the exterior anyway, Axion Roofing specifies materials that survive the next storm. The City of Calgary, in its Climate Ready measures for roofs, identifies Class 4 impact-resistant shingles, rubber, metal, slate and concrete tile as the resilient options for this city, and notes that Class 4 shingles reduce the chance of damage by 15 times against standard asphalt and return about $3 for every $1 in added cost.

The matching problem, and why it is worth money
Siding profiles and colours get discontinued constantly. When hail destroys two elevations of a 15-year-old vinyl siding job and the profile no longer exists, a two-elevation repair leaves a house that reads as patched from the street. Eavestrough colour matching runs into the same wall.
Many Alberta policies contain a matching provision covering exactly this. Ask your adjuster to cite the matching clause in your wording before you accept a partial scope, and get the discontinued profile documented in writing by the supplier. Roof insurance claims in Calgary covers how those supplements get supported.

Why one contractor for roof and exterior
Three practical reasons, all of them about the interfaces:
- Flashing continuity. The roof-to-wall transition, the kick-out flashing at the eave, and the eavestrough behind the fascia are one detail, not three trades. Split them and water gets in at the seam between contracts.
- Ventilation continuity. Soffit intake and roof exhaust are one system. A siding crew that installs solid soffit chokes the attic and creates attic rain on a brand new roof.
- One claim, one scope, one schedule. The adjuster gets one document instead of three, and the supplements get argued once.
